Welcome to Australia, home of convicts, criminals and pirates. In honour of the release of Australia’s largest and most expensive film ever, go download this episode and spread the pirate cheer by sharing it on bittorrent. But only if you’re on iiNet, okay?
We’re happy to introduce our new bloggers on TVAUSCAST.
First up is Matt B (matt_897), who’s going cover all aspects of sport on television. He’ll keep you up to date in a weekly report with all the latest results and upcoming sports coverage.
Our second new blogger is Jason (Jimmy James), who is slowly becoming a household name on the TVAus and Media Spy forums. He’ll be bringing us all his daily rants about television ratings and results, as well as in depth analysis of the prime-time figures.
Entertainment Weekly’s TV scooper, Michael Ausiello, is reporting some pretty depressing news this morning.
Three of ABC Studios struggling dramedies (Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone) have been given the axe. While the network isn’t commenting, ABC insiders have said that “no additional episodes have been ordered — effectively cancelling all three series”.
The one positive in this giant bag of hurt, is that the network are still dedicated to finishing production on all 13 episode orders and broadcasting them throughout the remainder of the season.
Hey, I’m Matt and I will be doing blogs about sporting results, reviewing and previewing sporting coverage on TV and just discussing sport and TV in general. I’ll try and generally do a weekly wrap-up like this one but if any other major TV sporting news comes up I’ll try to cover it. Hope you guys enjoy it
This week represents the start of cricket season on Nine (I’m not counting that useless 20/20 last Friday) with the first Test against New Zealand at the Gabba starting today. After the struggle that was the Indian Tour for the Australian Cricket Team, the more friendly Australian pitches are expected to help us out a lot more as we come in heavy favourites against New Zealand.
We’re gearing up for another live podcast. So if you want to join in on all the fun and possibly even call in to the show*, hit up our live site tomorrow tonight.
We’re still getting quite a few queries for the songs used in Seven’s new family drama Packed to the Rafters. So I thought we’d try and collate all the songs we recognise from the series. We’ll try to update the list weekly. If you recognise any other songs, or your simply want to query other readers of the blog, just leave a comment after this post.

Kobi Ghosh over at Zap2It had a chance to sit down with Privileged EP Rina Mimoun to ask a few fan questions. One interesting question that came up was regarding a possible crossover between Privileged and Gossip Girl. Here’s was Mimoun had to say:
“We would love to do a Gossip Girl crossover! We even came up with a really fun idea for Sage and Blair (because clearly they would be friends). The problem is scheduling. With Gossip shooting in New York and us being in L.A., it makes it really difficult. But I’m still hoping we could find a way to make it work…”
What are your thoughts? Does this sound like a good fit? Could this crossover give the struggling Privileged the boost it needs? I say yes, yes, yes! Bring it on!
The trailer has landed and might I say, holy be-jesus! J.J. Abrams has done it again! Even if you’re like me and have never even seen a “Star Trek” film before, but love J.J. Abrams’ television work, this film looks like it could be for everyone (at least the sci-fi/action film fans out there).
Despite not announcing a title, NBC will be launching a new dance show set to air on the peacock early next year.
Whilst on NBC, there are rumours NBC may bring back Knight Rider originals, David Hasslehoff and the original K.I.T.T, William Daniels on a permanent basis.
Still on NBC, they have ordered an additional 6 episodes of veteran Sci-fi drama Medium. This brings the episode order for its fifth season to 19. Also, look out for an earlier than usual return this year as a result of My Own Worst Enemy’s axing.

CBS’s other freshman comedy Worst Week has also been given an extra three episodes.
